An authentic and warm place where people come together to get back to basics and enjoy life.
Mauricie Park is a superb place for road biking. The significant differences in altitude, the quality of the road and the views make this place a paradise for cyclists. Whether it is to overcome yourself, have a first climbing experience or simply enjoy the exceptional landscapes, this road bike challenge is for you!
We suggest that you start your ride at 2800 from the Park. Located near the entrance of the Park on the East side (Saint-Jean-Des-Piles), the 2800 is a perfect place to start and end your outing. With its restaurant, its reception room, its large parking lot and even accommodations, you will have everything you need to start (and end) your day well.
Since the entire route takes place in the Mauricie Park, there are really no particular stops. On the other hand, there are several picnic areas designed to recharge your batteries or to cool off in the lake!
When you leave the Park, you can stop at the Café Bucolique de Ste-Flore or in one of the many microbreweries in Shawinigan. Among others, we particularly like: The Nouvelle France microbrewery And The Devil's Hole.
Admission to the Mauricie Park costs $8.50 per adult. Be sure to bring cash or a credit card so you can pay for admission. There are no reservations and the day admission fees are payable on site the same day you arrive.
Finally, with its 1000m+ of altitude gain, this course is a good challenge for your legs. Don't underestimate your nutrition and hydration for the day, especially when it's very hot!
